Restaurants and Nightlife.
There are a multitude of excellent restaurants in the main town
of Caleta de Fuste which offer a variety of international cuisine
for all tastes at very reasonable prices. Steaks and fish are
particularly good, however there are also Chinese, Indian, Thai,
Greek, Mexican, Portuguese, Italian, English and of course authentic
Spanish restaurants all within a close area. If you are into gastronomy,
three restaurants in Fuerteventura have been awarded the coveted
Plato de Oro - Spain's top food honor. These are:
La Fuente
in Caleta de Fuste ,El
Jardin in Triquivijate and The
Marabu at Esquinzo
Other popular restaurants
in Caleta de Fuste are: The Fado Rock and El Patio, (Steaks,
paella), La Torre (Itallian), Tony Romas (Ribs).
Prices are competitive when it comes
to eating out. You can get a cooked breakfast from €3.00,
a steak meal for €12.00, and if you want to try the local
paella you would pay in the region of €10.00. Drinks need
not be expensive as if you look carefully you can find Happy Hours
(2 for 1) at different bars throughout the evening. As a rule
a pint of larger is around €3.00.
There's a variety of nightlife
in the evenings in Caleta de Fuste. Many bars lay on entertainment,
everything from live acts to karaoke, quizzes and bingo. The El
Castillo commercial centre which comes alive at night has a range
of restaurants and cosy Spanish bars. The Castillo Centre has
an open air stage with live acts on most nights where you can
sit out in the cool evenings and listen to the live music. You
can also hear live music at The Legends Bar and The Royal Oak
as well as Piero’s music café that has 4 different
satellites systems that show all the major sporting events as
well as live music and shows, entertainment and cabaret. You are
also welcome to use any of the hotels or large time share complexes
which often have cabaret acts on and a varied entertainment programme
at normal drinks prices. The Barcelo hotel, for example, has some
very high quality acts as well as children’s entertainment,
although you will expect to pay a little more at the bar. The
Caleta Gardens offer a good variety of entertainment and the Costa
Caleta Hotel has some good acts too. If you like something a little
louder, the Happy Centre goes for more raucous music as well as
karaoke. There is a mix of entertainment for everyone including
later bars, although in general Caleta is aimed at families and
couples. If you just want to relax with a glass of wine you can
still find plenty of quieter places where you can sit out and
take in the cool night air.
